Converse shoes, Jeans from River Island, Tunic Dress from Topsop, Belt from ASOS
Gosh Golly, am I tired.

For anyone who does not have the joy of being acquainted with the Irish schooling system, I'm in my final school year this year, Leaving Cert year - basically at the end of the year we sit a set of exams, upon which our college places will be based next year. So I'm anticipating a massive work load. And I'm knackered already. . . Higher caffeine intake will do the job though, I reckon.

Picked up this dress on sale a while back, was exciting. (Stinginess excites me. And probably the rest of the world.)

I've got an awful smug look on my face here, don't I?
Blog world, I'm actually a nice person, I swear.

I'm too tired to write anything vaguely coherent, this is me blithering, so until next time guys.

(Do follow me to find out when I have new posts - my updates are a bit erratic at the moment, sorry!)

And Yet Another Maxi Skirt

Skirt from River Island, Converse Shoes, Fossil Watch, Bag from Prim Time, Aeropostale Cardgan, T-Shirt from H&M, Earrings from Forever 21
I seem to be unable to let go of the summer, and reverted once more to my Maxi-Skirted Uniform on Saturday.

Though, feck it, I might just start wearing Maxi Skirts all the time. (They have a lot going for them.)

Speaking of skirts, I tried a Mullet Skirt on over the summer, and it just made my knees look fat. Anyone else have this problem, or am I the only one with obscenely chubby knees?

Also, see outrageoulsy shaggy hair above. It's kind of madness. I've been too lazy to get a haircut, and am borderline considering letting it keep on growing. . . We shall have to see.

Why, Hello There Again!

Shoes by Rocket Dog, Jeans from River Island, Shirt from River Island, Jacket from Urban Outfitters, Fossil Watch
Long time no see, interwebs.

Sorry about the sabbatical - I was basically busy having a pretty cool summer, but now, unfortunetly it is over. And I'm super enthused about returning to Cankles and Clothes.

So this was me, shockingly enough, a month ago - end of July, if my memory serves correct. And now it's end of August.

Gosh.

So, in 5 short and succinct bullet points, how I spent this mystery month!

  • Working my (consequentially growing) but off in a coffee and cake shop that my dearest mother was running for the summer. I came close to perfecting my cappucino making technique, and also discovered an enduring love for lemon cake.
  • Letting my hair grow long. Not intentionally, just out of laziness. See above? (It was windy, by the by, I haven't taken to wearing my hair swished across my forehead. . . ) Imagine a month on that. With roots. And of late, different coloured patches due to lazy dying. Damn, right?
  • Going to Germany last week! For Chiemsee Reggae Festival! Which was pretty awesome. Shaggy was awesome (and I honestly mean that non-sarcastically or ironically. That guy can put on a good show), the mud was cankle deep, and I had the chance to exercise my dodgy German. Which was cool.
  • Developing a tea addiction. Totally out of character - three months ago, I considered tea 'coffee for wimps'. However, country life influenced me. And there's something oh-so-comforting about a pot of tea in the early hours of the morning.
  • Dressing a teeny-tiny bit like a hobo. Albeit one with a penchant for maxi skirts. (Comfortable, cankle concealing, and capable of being both cool or cosy, depending on whether one chooses to pair it with sneaky leggings.) I embraced my floordrobe this summer, spending much of time mis-matched and grubby. So, you didn't miss out on much it terms of outfit posts, to be honest. However, having been reintroduced to society, I'm eager to start trying to look nice once more!
So, how were your summers? Hope everyone had a good one - and if you're back to school (like myself), gleaning some enjoyment from it. (Mild sarcasm here.)

Paint By Number

Vans Shoes, Shorts from Pennys, Shirt from Urban Outfitters, Cardigan from Pennys, Fossil Watch

Totally unsatisfactory picture of my amazing paint by number Vans, but whatever.

Mom trimmed my undercut. You can't tell, but it's hilariously patchy.

Anyways, is everyones summer going well?

(I'm ashamed at how little I have to say. . . )

Slowly Reverting Back to Infancy

Shoes from Pennys, BDG Jeans from Urban Outfitters, Shirt from Kohl's, Denim Shirt from American Eagle

In that it feels I'm forgetting how to dress myself. Something about the summer inspires only lethargy within me, and rarely the energy or passion to wear something new, different or exciting.

Not that this is necessarily a bad thing - I've (thus far) spent none of my hard earned summer-job money on clothes. Although my wardrobe is certainly gaining nothing, I do have that wonderful smug feeling that only a saver experiences.

Anyways . . . crazy jeans! I love patterned jeans to bits. Enough said, I think.

Why, Hi there.

Converse Shoes, Socks from Topshop, Shorts from American Apparel, Belt from Pennys, Jumper from Topshop

Hello, interweb! Remember me?

We finally have a form of internet connection here in West Cork, so hopefully I can post more often - I know you all missed me dreadfully.

I wore this weeks back - since, to be honest, I've not been too exciting or outre, sartorially speaking. There's something about the country that makes me want to throw on whatever I see first.

I've been working in a little coffee shop down here, run by my family, and otherwise relaxing - not having to go to school is wonderful, my reading list is coming along fantastically. I finally had the time to read the Song of Ice and Fire books (which are amazing, and I sincerely hope George R.R Martin hurries up with the 6th book), and am currently engrossed in David Foster Wallace's 'Infinite Jest', which is also very cool, albeit in a very different way.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

Summertime

Shoes from River Island, Chinos from Only, Bag from Prime Time, Belt from Pennys, Shirt and Cardigan from Forever 21, Sunglasses from Anthropologie
I wore this on a wonderfully blisteringly hot day the weekend before my summer exams - perfect for procrastination, as illustrated by the fact I barely studied that day.

This outfit is very summer-ish for me - it was basically my uniform last summer and probably will be again this summer. (Summer is ideal for Formula Dressing.) It felt great to slip into such a familiar outfit - the true inauguration of my summer.

Also, I love this bag. It's got teddy bears all over it, and the capability to carry my life.

So, I'm at home, and able to access the internet, because (drum roll please) tomorrow I am heading up to Dublin to see Blink-182! Woo! I don't care if they're very very mediocre, I've seen them live before, and I'm pumped for an amazing night. Exciting stuff.
